DTG

Advantages of Direct-to-Garment Printing!

DTG (Direct to Garment printing) is a digital printing technology that directly prints ink onto garment fabrics.  In recent years, it has been widely used in areas such as custom clothing and small-batch production. Its advantages are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

High Pattern Fidelity and Excellent Color Performance

Clear Details: DTG technology uses high-precision print heads, accurately reproducing fine lines, gradient effects. And complex textures in patterns, even restoring photo-level details, far exceeding the resolution limitations of traditional screen printing.

No Screen Printing Limitations: Unlike screen printing, it does not require the creation of screens, avoiding the limitations of screens on color layers, making it especially suitable for patterns with multiple colors, gradients, and strong light and shadow effects (such as illustrations, portraits, and landscapes).

More Efficient for Small-Batch and Personalized Production

Flexible Minimum Order Quantity: Traditional screen printing requires the creation of multiple screens and is suitable for large-scale production (usually hundreds of pieces or more). While DTG requires no screen making, allowing for single-piece production. With minimal cost differences for multiple small orders, perfectly matching the needs of “one person, one garment” and “small-batch customization” (such as team uniforms, event commemorative shirts, and personal fashion brands).

Short Production Cycle: From design file transfer to printing completion. It usually only takes a few minutes, eliminating the need to wait for screen making and color matching, significantly shortening the production cycle and meeting the needs of fast-response orders.

Wide Range of Applicable Fabrics and Good Printing Feel

Strong Fabric Compatibility: It is not only suitable for natural fabrics such as pure cotton and cotton blends. But also can stably print on regenerated cellulose fabrics such as bamboo fiber and modal. Some improved equipment can even handle fabrics containing a small amount of chemical fibers (such as less than 5% chemical fiber content).

Soft feel: The ink penetrates directly into the fabric fibers, resulting in a print surface without a heavy, rubbery feel. Unlike screen printing or heat transfer printing, it does not cause the fabric to stiffen or reduce breathability. Ensuring high wearing comfort, especially for close-fitting garments.

Superior environmental performance, in line with sustainability trends

Environmentally friendly ink: Mainstream DTG printing machine inks use water-based formulas, free from harmful substances such as formaldehyde and heavy metals, complying with international environmental standards such as OEKO-TEX. And having minimal impact on human health and the environment.

Zero wastewater, low waste: Unlike traditional printing methods. There is no need for screen cleaning, reducing wastewater discharge. And printing is done on demand, avoiding the waste of fabric and dyes caused by overproduction, aligning with the sustainable development trends of the apparel industry.
