The temperature is low in winter, and the inkjet sublimation printer is prone to various minor faults. Proper maintenance can ensure its normal operation and extend its service life.

There are strict requirements for the working environment temperature of the sublimation machine in winter, and the optimal indoor working temperature is 15℃ – 30℃.  According to relevant data, when the temperature is too low, the sublimation machine may have oblique spraying, flying ink, and weak printing.  Before using the sublimation machine, the air conditioner or electric heater should  turn on in advance to preheat the working environment so that it is in the best working state. This will not only improve work efficiency, but also improve the printing effect.

In addition, the viscosity of the ink will change due to the temperature in winter. Inferior ink becomes more viscous in winter, which is easy to clog the nozzle, causing oblique spraying and ink breakage, affecting the life of the nozzle. Therefore, when purchasing ink, users should choose ink with good weather resistance and good quality, such as SUBLICOOL original ink, which uses imported raw materials, is smooth to use, has little effect on viscosity due to temperature, and has long-term output without interruption.

Static electricity is also a focus of attention in the maintenance of sublimation printer in winter. Static electricity not only causes ink flying when the dye sublimation machine is printing, but also may damage circuits and electronic components. Therefore, before using the sublimation machine, be sure to do a good job of grounding the wire, and pay attention to keeping the indoor humidity between 35% – 65% to prevent static electricity.

Daily maintenance methods for dye sublimation printer:

(i). Cleaning the bottom of the nozzle Move the trolley to the left position and wipe the edge of the nozzle protection block with a cotton swab dipped in cleaning fluid once a week to keep the bottom of the nozzle clean and prevent impurities from accumulating and affecting the normal operation of the nozzle. It is understood that the nozzle is one of the core components of the sublimation printer , and its normal operation is crucial to the printing quality. If the bottom of the nozzle is not clean, it may cause problems such as broken lines and flying ink in the printing, affecting the printing effect.

(ii). Cleaning the scraper Use a cotton swab dipped in cleaning fluid to wipe the edge of the scraper once every 10 days or so. The scraper plays an important role in the printer. It can clean the ink on the surface of the nozzle and prevent the ink from clogging the nozzle. Regular cleaning of the scraper can ensure its normal operation and improve the printing quality.

(iii). Cleaning the ink core Use a cotton swab dipped in cleaning fluid to wipe the edge of the ink core once every 10 days. The ink core is an important part of the ink supply system of the large format sublimation machine. Keeping the ink core clean can ensure smooth ink supply and avoid affecting the printing quality due to ink core clogging.

(IV). Replacement of ink core and ink sac . It is recommend to replace the ink core every 3-4 months and the ink sac every 3 months. As the wearing parts of the sublimation machine, the ink core and ink sac are replace regularly to ensure the normal operation of the machine. For example, the ink sac of the white ink nozzle is best replace every 3 months, the ink sac of the color nozzle is replaced every 6 months, and the ink sac of the UV ink is recommended to be replaced every 1 month. The ink core is generally replace every 3-4 months, so that the ink supply system relate to the photo machine can be better check to ensure the safety and smoothness of the ink supply system.

(V). Grating cleaning Use a cotton swab dipped in pure water to wipe both sides of the grating. It is recommend to clean it once a month. The grating plays a positioning role in the sublimation inkjet printer. If the grating is dirty, there will be ghosting and misalignment when printing, so it is very important to clean the grating regularly.

(VI) Guide rail maintenance The guide rail is the track on which the machine trolley runs. Keeping the guide rail flat and lubricated can ensure the smooth operation of the trolley. Using grease to maintain the guide rails every week can reduce the friction of the trolley during operation and improve the working efficiency of the machine.

(VII). Belt maintenance Check the belt for wear every three months. The belt plays a transmission role in the dye sublimation machine. If the belt is severely worn, it may cause the photo machine to work abnormally. Once the belt is found to be worn, it should be replaced in time to ensure the normal operation of the sublimation equipment.

The maintenance of the machine in winter is a meticulous and important task, covering temperature control, anti-static measures, sublimation printer nozzle heating and drying, and daily cleaning and maintenance. Only by doing these maintenance points can we ensure that the sublimation printer can still operate stably and efficiently in the cold winter.
