In the low-temperature and low-humidity environment of winter, static electricity becomes a major hidden danger affecting the stable operation of Sublimation Transfer Printer. Furthermore, the low-temperature and low-humidity environment of winter is a high-risk period for static electricity problems in digital printing machines. Static electricity can lead to ink splashing, dust accumulation, pattern shifting, and even damage to electronic components (such as the motherboard and printhead driver board), significantly impacting the printing accuracy and lifespan of the digital printing machine. How to solve the static electricity problem?

-
Grounding is the most crucial means of solving static electricity.
The grounding wire provided with the machine must be used strictly according to the instructions. Regularly check whether the grounding wire is aging or loose. If damaged, replace it promptly to prevent static electricity accumulation from damaging the motherboard and printhead.
-
Dry environment is a major cause of static electricity.
The temperature of the digital printing machine workshop should be controlled between 18-30℃, and the humidity should be maintained between 35%-60%, especially during the dry autumn and winter seasons. Use a humidifier to continuously replenish air humidity and reduce static electricity generation. Also, avoid excessive airflow in the workshop to reduce static electricity generated by friction between the air and materials.
Use original manufacturer-approved ink. The formula of this type of ink has been adjusted to reduce static electricity caused by ink characteristics during printing. Avoid using inks with excessively high viscosity; high-viscosity inks are prone to residue at the printhead, and friction with components is more likely to generate static electricity.
-
Printing materials and components:
Prioritize Sublimation Transfer Printer materials with anti-static properties, and avoid stacking them too tightly during storage to reduce static electricity generated by friction between materials; if components such as the paper feed rollers that frequently come into contact with materials are worn, replace them promptly to avoid problems such as ink splashing and frayed edges.

-
Before touching the equipment
operators can touch a grounded metal object in the workshop to release their own static electricity, preventing the transfer of static electricity from the human body to the equipment.
-
Regularly clean the thermal sublimation printer panel, printhead area, and other components of the equipment.
Static electricity easily attracts dust and impurities, and dust accumulation will exacerbate static electricity problems and printhead clogging. When cleaning, use an anti-static cleaning agent and avoid using a dry cloth to wipe, preventing the generation of new static electricity through friction. It’s also important to note that for different printing materials, faster printing speeds aren’t always better. Higher printing speeds increase the likelihood of static electricity buildup in digital printing machines. Therefore, you should choose an appropriate printing mode to prevent excessive static electricity.
