UV DTF printing Has Problems? Here Is the Solution!

In the wave of digital printing, UV DTF printing, as an efficient and environmentally friendly printing technology, is widely used in advertising, packaging, decoration and other fields, and has gradually become the darling of many creative and production fields

This article will introduce some common problems in UV DTF printing:

1. Print head blockage;
2. Print screen drawing;
3. Print screen edge droplets;
4. Print color deviation;

UV Print head blockage

Performance: Broken lines, uneven colors or blurred printing effects during printing.

Solution: Use cleaning fluid to flush the nozzle hole, or use ultrasonic cleaning of the nozzle to clear the blocked nozzle. Check the status of the nozzle. If there is a blockage, use a special nozzle cleaning tool to clean it.

Print screen drawing

Performance: A small amount of abnormal color parts in the form of filaments appear in the printed screen.

Cause analysis: The nozzle cannot spray ink normally due to the influence of hair, droplets, etc.; the nozzle working setting is improper; the nozzle channel ink supply is not smooth; the nozzle and the material are scratched.

Solution: Check if the material has signs of scratching against the nozzle surface. If so, reduce the material warping or raise the printing height. Check if the material has hair loss and shavings. If so, treat the material appropriately and clean the nozzle surface. Check the air tightness and smoothness of the ink supply channel of the nozzle.

Check if the negative pressure setting can maintain the nozzle level balance and normal inkjet.

Spraying on the edge of the printed screen

Performance: There are a few ink dots scattered on the edge of the printed screen, forming a halo or tailing shape.

Cause analysis: Unreasonable nozzle working settings; poor nozzle working condition; material surface shape causes printing height differences; material edge and nozzle surface scratch; trolley movement forms airflow influence.

Solution: If the edge of the material has a shape change similar to a bend, it is recommended to use a clamp to properly seal the edge to reduce the spread of ink droplets. Appropriately increase the printing height or reduce the deformation of the printed material to avoid scratches. But make the bottom plate of the trolley as flat as possible to reduce the generation of swirling airflow.

Printing color deviation

Phenomenon: After the UV inkjet printer is completed, the color difference between the printed product and the design drawing is too large.

Cause analysis: wrong image color mode, ink quality problem, print head ink failure.

Solution: adjust the image color mode to CMYK. Replace with high-quality ink and avoid mixing different brands of ink. Besides, test the print head status before printing and stop the machine for inspection if any problem is found during printing.
