What Textile Fabrics Can Be Used For Full Sublimation Printing?

There are roughly five types of new Full Sublimation Printing textile materials:

  1. High-performance fiber materials: such as carbon fiber and aramid fiber, these materials have extremely high strength and stiffness, and are lightweight, and are widely used in aerospace, sports equipment, and military Full Sublimation Printing equipment. They not only improve the durability of textiles, but also enhance their functionality, such as UV resistance and fire resistance.
  2. Smart textile materials: materials that can respond to the external environment or change their own performance. For example, smart thermostatic fibers can automatically adjust the surface temperature according to changes in human body temperature to maintain the comfort of the wearer. In addition, there are smart textile materials that can sense external stimuli such as light and pressure.
  3. New chemical fiber textile materials: such as Tencel fiber, sea island fiber, modal fiber, acetate fiber, soy protein fiber, bamboo fiber, corn fiber, pupa protein fiber, chitin fiber and milk velvet, etc. These new materials have their own characteristics, such as high strength, good drape, high softness, good elasticity, antibacterial and mildew-proof, strong breathability, etc., and are widely used in various high-end fashion fabrics and home textile products.

The following are new textile materials that can be used for digital sublimation printing solutions:

Viscose:

Viscose fiber is also a natural fiber widely used in the fashion industry. It is feasible to use a digital printing machine to print on viscose. Just like printing on cotton cloth, printing on viscose with active ink can achieve the best effect.

Wool:

It is feasible to use Full Sublimation Printing to print on wool fabrics, but this depends on the type of wool fabric used. If there is a lot of fluff on the surface of the wool fabric, the nozzle must be as far away from the fabric as possible.

Silk:

Silk can be printed with active ink (better color fastness) or acid ink (wider color gamut).

Polyamide Lycra:

Polyamide Lycra is a fabric mainly used for swimwear. Digital printing can be used to print on polyamide lycra, preferably with acid inks.

Polyester:

Polyester has become an increasingly popular fabric in the fashion industry. However, the disperse inks most commonly used for polyester printing do not work well when used on high-speed digital printing machines. Therefore, printing factories have turned to thermal sublimation transfer printing on paper. And recently successfully switched to direct printing on polyester fabrics using thermal sublimation inks.

Blended fabrics:

Blended fabrics refer to fabrics composed of two different types of materials, which is a challenge for digital printing machines. Digital textile printing machines can handle mixed fabrics with a ratio of 70-30%.

In general, the wide variety of new textile materials, each with its own characteristics, has brought new development opportunities to the textile industry. As an efficient, flexible and environmentally friendly printing method. Digital printing technology has been increasingly used in new textile materials, promoting innovation and development in the textile industry.
